In May 1927, at least four different people were planning to fly between New York and Paris. On the morning of 20 May, none of them had done so, yet Lindbergh took off from New York in his small plane. It was heavy with fuel and it seemed it would never get off the ground. Just then a nurse asked to speak to them.
"I think the baby is suffering from thallium (铊) poisoning," said the nurse～"A few days ago, I read a story ’A Pale Horse’ written by Agatha Christie. Someone uses thallium poison, and all the symptoms (症状) are written in the book. They are exactly the same as the baby’s."
