There is a woman in America who had a monkey many years. The interesting fact about this monkey is that it can wash plates for the woman every day. He likes to wash plates. He will spend hour after hour washing plates. He never breaks a plate. But sometimes he washes the same plates over and over. If the woman tries to stop him, he then gets angry. He begins to throw the plates to the ground. But this doesn’t happen very often.

Men and women who only do office work are called "white-collar workers". Secretaries and receptionists, typists, bank tellers and computer operators work for many different kind of companies. There are big banks that do business all over the world and small banks that serve a single neighborhood or a small town. Big insurance and industrial companies may employ thousands of people who work in tall office buildings, while around the corner an employment agency or a manufacturer’s representative may have a staff of only half a dozen service agents.
Some office workers dream of working their way up to the top from clerk to president of the corporation. If this is to be done, the way lies through middle management positions. Middle management includes junior executives, who will perform specialized jobs, recommend action to top management, and/or see that the company’s policies are implemented, especially those that involve financial matte

Nobody knows who first invented the umbrella, but it was used in very ancient times. Probably the first to use it were Chinese, in the eleventh century B. C.. We know that the umbrella was used in ancient Egypt and Babylon as a sunshade. And there was a strange thing connected with its use: it became a sign of honor. In the Far East in ancient times, the umbrella was allowed to be used only by those in high office.
In Europe, the Greeks were the first to use the umbrella as a sunshade. And the umbrella was in common use in ancient Greece. But it is believed that the first people in Europe to use the umbrella as protection against the rain were the ancient Romans.
By the eighteenth century, the umbrella was used against rain throughout most Europe. Umbrellas have not changed much in style during all this time, though they have become much lighter in weight. It wasn’t until the twentieth century that women’s umbrellas began to be made

John was annoyed because he had to search for his newspaper each morning after the paperboy threw it. Often he would find it, covered with dust and mud, under the car in the driveway. One can never be happy when in the newspaper all one can read is nothing but dust and mud. But one day the paperboy’s mother mentioned that her son’s ambition was to play professional basketball and that he dreamed to be a great player like Michael Jordan. John had an idea.
When he got home, he attached a basketball hoop to a post on the front porch. Sure enough, the next morning there was a resounding "plunge" as the newspaper sailed through the hoop and landed by the door.
